Upstands

Upstands are available in wood to complement your selected kitchen units but can also be supplied in granite or composite to match your worksurface. We also specialise in glass and stainless steel splashbacks.

Upstands are typically 100mm high (about 4 inches) and are normally installed to go all around the kitchen on all walls.

Splashbacks

A Stainless Steel or Glass splashback will transform the appearance and improve the functionality of any kitchen.

How do I choose whether to have upstands or splashbacks?

Splashbacks are usually higher than upstands and normally feature in certain splash/splatter areas of the kitchen such as behind the hob or sink.

There are no rules, this is completely a matter of personal preference. Some customers choose to have no upstands and will instead tile the wall down to the worksurface. With the huge range of wipeable paints now on the market some people don’t do either.

Make sure you choose a paint especially for kitchens that can be wiped down easily and incorporate splashbacks in the high "splatter" areas.
